My client is looking for a Database Systems Engineer to be responsible for the Development and maintenance of the Database infrastructure. The role will embrace change whilst getting the most out of existing systems, resolving support requests and participating with the management of the database infrastructure to ensure efficient delivery and availability of services and working as a member of project teams to provide timely delivery of agreed work. Specific Day to Day Duties Pro-Active Monitoring and Maintenance of Company databases Logging, investigating and identifying enhancements and amendments to the systems and actioning them as appropriate Providing Capacity Planning across the company's Database and application servers Liaising with team members in connection with projects and tasks on as required Enforcing The Group IT Polices e.g. passwords, security, hardware etc Provide 1st / 2nd / 3rd line support to all APG offices covering all aspects of Abbey’s IT applications and databases. Technical Experience SQL Server 2000/2005 Access 2000 upward Data Migration Experience Having worked with active directory Windows Server 2000 upward Sourcesafe or other source code management/versioning tool.
