My client; a leading global ISP currently has an excellent opportunity for a Systems administrator to work with their Service engineering team. This is a permanent role to be based in London and will ideally suit some one with 1st class systems administration skills and development exposure. The purpose of your role is to work with others in the Service engineering team to manage all aspects of the engineering and network operations across several properties including the Open Content and Network Personalisation groups. The scope of this position will include: •Build, push, and configuration processes; •Monitoring, •Systems troubleshooting, •Capacity planning, •On-call support, •Day-to-day maintenance. Ideally you will have a strong background in systems administration, and software development cycles. The initial objectives of your role include: •Deploy and run a fully automated daily build/package/verify/push system. •Understand services and update monitoring and systems configurations to enhance reliability and performance of the property. Your technical skills should include: •Substantial experience administering and performance-tuning Unix-based operating systems. •Apache, MySQL. •Excellent PHP/perl and/or shell scripting skills. •Good knowledge of release engineering tools and processes, knowledge of cvs. •Prior experience with 24x7 high-availability systems. •Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
